Johan (Johannes) Gard (aka Aili, Järf) became a soldier placed at Tärendö 7 1783. The place carried the name Gardin or Gard. He fought in the Russian war. Johannes kept the name after leaving the soldier life, when he moved to Poustijärvi. There, he built a small farm also called Gard. At least one other soldier from Tärendö 7 kept the name Gard.
