About Johan (Jan) Blankers
Johan (Jan) Blankers was a Dutch athlete, with hop, skip and jump as a specialization. He participated in the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam and became Dutch champion twice. In later years he received national recognition as sports editor in chief of the newspaper De Telegraaf, but as a coach and husband of Fanny Blankers-Koen.
