At the time of his second marriage, Johan ( Johnnie ) was aged 36 years, a widower and Sheep Inspector from Vrede. His wife, Jacoba ( Kotie ) Susanna Elizabeth Bresler was aged 24 years and a spinster from Vrede.

They were married after banns and by special licence from the Supreme Court, Bloemfontein at the NG Kerk, Vrede on 8 March 1921 by Presiding Minister, Ds H.J. Reyneke in the presence of the following witnesses : J.H. Serfontein / Pieter Pringle ( His brother in law )

Lived in Voortrekker Street, Ceres until their home was destroyed during the 1969 major Earthquake.
