Arr. 1769 as so., farmhand 1774-79, b. 1779; burgher cornet at Graaff-Reinet, proposed to be promoted to lieutenant by landdrost Woeke in 1791. ~ 5.12.1779 Dina Margaretha van Dyk, wid. Zacharias de Beer. One son. + 1794 on the leasehold-farm “Kweekvallei” at the Swartberg in the district of Graaf-Reinet, (now the town of Prins Albert)
