About Johann Peter Conrad
Peter Conrad's family in the few web trees that contain him consists of one wife, Anna Catharina Cappler. Therefore, imagine my surprise when I discovered that Peter and Anna Catharina married in 1716, almost 17 years after Peter's first-born child appeared in the world. The christening records for those early children, interestingly, do not specify the woman's name, while those after 1716 do.
I therefore am forced to conclude that Peter married twice -- either that, or his first three children were illegitimate. Given that the mystery wife did not get named on any of the records we have, we don't have any idea who she was or where she was from.
