(special thanks to Anonymous for birth & death place and the following info) Johan Phillip emigrated to America in 1749. Because of this he was called "The Pioneer." He settled in Derry Township, Dauphin Co., PA. In 1752 he returned to Germany and then brought his bride-to-be, Catherine Elizabeth Bretz, to the new country. They were married on November 10, 1752.
