PEENSCH JOHANN FRIEDRICH (S Pönsch, Peensch, Peinsch, Peens, Poensch). - Eisenach. Arr. 1755 as so., cooper 1755-60, b. 1760. ~ (1) (in Germany) Maria Elisabeth Lauch; (2) 19.8.1787 Catharina of the C., em. sl. of the Secundus Pieter Hacker, who manumitted her and gave her to Peensch when he returned to Europe in 1787 (CJ 1110: 26). P. had already seven children by her. After her manumission she called herself C. Adams. She died 1793 and P. married (3) Maria du Buis. Children: Andreas (by his first wife), Jacob Christoffel, Jacoba Petronella, Jan Franciscus, Johan Fredrik, Christina Frederica, Catharina Wilhelmina, Elisabeth Maria (by his second wife). P. died 3.2.1807 at the age of 77. (GMR 1758-60; Rq. 1760: 164; Rq. C 284: 83; Test. CJ 1108: 71; Test. O.C. 38:35; Test. O.C. 48: 7; CJ 1297: 23.) Andries Peensch entered the Comp.'s service 1775 as so. (GMR 1775-89). He had an illeg. son, Fredrik (born 1789, bapt. 13.3.1796), by Johanna Catharina Manefeld (see Samuel Ernst Manefeld). Christina Frederica P. ~ Ludwig Scholtz (q.v.). Elisabeth Maria P. had an illeg. son, Willem George (13.1.1788), by Georg Willem de Leeuw; she married David Wantranc (q.v.). Catharina Willemina P. ~ 31.1.1790 Johannes Franciscus Kleenwerk of Brugge.
