Johann (Jan) Georg (Jurgen) Muller. Born in 1754 in Sulzdorf, Neder-frankenland. Johann (Jan) Georg (Jurgen) was baptized in Sultzorf, Germany. on 19 Oct 1754. Arrived in 1779 at Cape of Good Hope. Occupation: Soldier D.E.I.C. 1779 - 1781, Cook for the National Battlion at the Cape 1794. In 1795 Johan Georg Muller and Martinus Cerff applied for the lease of a tavern for the sale of wine and brandy. In the book " Louis Michel Thibault 1750 -1815 on page 3 see footnote 12. " Colonel R. J. Gordon stated on the 3rd October 1795 that Henry Denner, Jean Georges Muller and Paques Hendrkson, two of whom were cooks in his battalion, had married, owned properties and were considered good citizens. B.O. 89 (B.O. British Occupation archives) One of these properties was the Garden Domberg situated where Stal Plein is today. In 1800 the land was transferred to enable the Masonic Lodge Good Hope to be built. He also was the owner of a garden (tuin) in Roeland street known as Rustenburg Garden. In 1800 he was elected as a member of the Masonic Lodge Good Hope.

On 7 Nov 1784 when Johann (Jan) Georg (Jurgen) was 30, he married Dina Margaretha De Beer, daughter of Zacharias De Beer (1719-) & Dina Margaretha Van Dyk of Qweekvallei ( present day Prince Albert ) born in 1764. Dina Margaretha died on the 10th March1834 at The Garden Rustenburg situated in Roeland Street, Cape Town. According to her death notice she was 65 years 8months and 13 days old. Her condition in life is listed as Gardener.
