He was buried two miles south of Ellettsville in Figg graveyard. In 1790 purchased land on the waters of Dutch Buffalo Creek in Mercklinburg County, NC.

Married in 1748, they had the following children: Johann George III (1753-1833), Catherina Dorothea (b. 1755), Anna Maria (b.1757), Anna Barbara (b. 1759), Jacob, Christopher, Daniel, Mary, Polly, Maria Magdalena (b. 1767) and Johannes (1770-1860).
