The Will of Michael Hohwairte Anna Hochwaerter's father In the name of God amen. I Michael Hohwairte of Frederick County and State of Maryland being now in a sick and weekly condition tho of perfect mind and memory praised be God for it . Do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say after my debts are all paid, my will and desire is that my beloved wife Catharina have and possess the full third part of my estate, remaining two thirds to be equally divided among my eight children, equal parts. Moreover I will and desire that my house and lot shall be enjoyed and possessed by such one of my children after their mother's decease as shall be able to satisfy their Brothers or Sisters for their respective shares, but if none of them shall be able, then it shall be sold to the greatest advantage and the return or price thereof equally shared among the m as aforementioned.

And I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Catharine Sole Executrix of this my last will and testament which alone I do ratify and confirm as such revoking and disannulling all former wills, legacies, and bequests by me heretofore make left or bequeaths. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand seal this eleventh day of July ammo dm ini seventeen hundred and eighty seven. Frederick County August 11, 1787 Then came Christian Geimert and Henry Cronise two of the subscribing witnesses to the afore going last will and testament of Michael Hohwairter late of Frederick County deceased and make oath that they did see the testator therein named sign and seal this will that they heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be his last will and testament that at the time of his so doing he was the best of their apprehension of a sound and disposing mind memory and understanding that they respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this will i n the presence and at the request of the testator and that they did also see Edward Salmon the other subscribing witnesses sign his name as witness thereto in the presence and at the request of the testator and all in the presence of each other. Then came Christian Geimert and Henry Cronise two of the Subscribing Witnesses to the afore going Last Will and Testament of Michael Hohwairter late of Frederick County Deceased and make Oath that they did see the Testator therein named Sign and Seal this Will that they heard him publish, pronounce and Declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament that at the time of his so doing he was the best of their apprehension of a Sound and Disposing Mind Memory and Understanding that they Respectively Subscribed their Names as Witnesses to this Will in the presence and at the Request of the Testator and that they did also see Edward Salmon the other Subscribing Witness Sign his Name as Witness thereto in the presence and at the request of the Testator and all in the presence of Each Other.

His death notice was written as follows: 1793 April 12, Friday - Son of Mihhail Hochwaeter and his wife Catharina, Born 1 Dec 1775. For four and one-half years he was an apprentice with Mr. Thomas Hickman in order to learn Shoemaker, Hand work. Died of an infection April 11 At 1:30 PM aged 17 years 4 months 10 days.
