Johann was listed as one of the witnesses in a baptism record in Holtorf in 1669, when he was around 16 years old:

A few other records list "Die Mesenbringesohn" (the Mesenbring's son) as a witness in other baptism records in 1672, 1673, and 1674. These are probably referring to this Johann and not his half-brother Moritz Wilhelm who was born in 1666 and would have probably been too young to be listed as a witness.

He is also named as a witness in baptism records in 1679, 1682, and 1688, as well as in records for his children.
