About Johann Heinrich Vos
VOS JOHANN HEINRICH. – Osnabrück. Adelborst 1703-5. ~ 6.4.1711 Christina Baumann, d. of Heinrich Baumann (q.v.). repatriated 1711 as sergeant on the ship Oosterstyn. Later he went to Batavia, where his son, Jan Hendrik, was born in 1715. His widow returned to the Cape, where she was re-married (14.5.1724) to the junior merchant Cornelis Engels of Middelburg, with whom she went back to Batavia in the same year. She was later divorced and returned with her son to the Cape, where Jan Hendrik married (2.6.1748) Johanna Bock, d. of Michiel Bock (son of Christian Bock q.v.)).
