" ... my father told me about his early life before coming to Vienna for schooling as a small boy - how his mother Adela, widowed before his birth, ran a small inn in Kostice near the border with Austria, frequented by farmers and peasants. His beloved grandmother (Johanna Heilig), Sigmund Pisk's wife, had a farm near Rabensburg in Austria, where my father and his little cousins would spend summers. He remembers it as a place where there was always plenty to eat. :( As a boy in Vienna. an "orphan" of WWI, he was very poor. "
