Funeral services for Mrs. Fred Koster, 88, of Wichert, were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, with the Rev. John Bruggers officiating, at the Wichert Reformed church.

Burial was in Oakwood cemetery.

Mrs. Koster died at 4:30 p.m. at Bethel Nursing Home, Kankakee, after 19 months illness.

Johanna Koster was born March 19, 1865 in South Holland, and had lived in Wichert for 56 years.

Her husband, Fred, died in 1941 and a son preceded her in death.

Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Garrit (Lydia) Jager of Hazelcrest, Mrs. Cornelia Schaafsma, Mrs. Clarence (Carrie) Runia and Mrs. Peter (Nellie) Sikma of Wichert; sons, Martin and John of South Holland, Garrit of Harvey, Fred of Mason, Cornelius and Peter of Wichert; 21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
