About Johannes Bernardus Kempen
GEDCOM Note

JB farmed at Beyersfontein. I was told, as a child, that my great grandfather was a huge man and that he had to bend to walk through the doors at the farm house at Beyersfontein. Inlater years friends of mine were now the owners of that farm and I found that the height of the doors were only 6 feet and that I had to bend to walk through!JB eventually retired to Krugersdorp where some of his children lived. He handed the farm over to his son Johannes Bernardus who in turn passed it down to his son, Johannes Eben. It is rumoured that the latter became very religious and donated the farm to the church. In later years the TORR family farmed there.

In the year 2000 I visited Victoria West and filled in JB and ACF's grave which had caved in.Willem Hendrik(Marthinus Abraham) and Jacoba Magdalena Claassens lie buried alongside the grave of JB and ACF
