Johannes Ostertag, b. 1744 in Hoehenmenningen, Wuerttenburg, immigrated in 1772, appears to be the same who settled near Philadelphia.

Johannes Ostertag arrived this autumn in Captain Smith's ship, and he seeks his mother's brother, Johann Ulrich Keyser, who came to America twenty years ago, with his wife and child. Johannes Ostertag's wife died on the voyage, and he is not yet free from the ship. He is a linenweaver, from Hohen Meiningen, Wurtemberg.
