About Johannes B. Empie

SOURCE< Descendants of Johan Ernst Emichen Volume II by Herman Witthoft Sr. and Barbara Empie Greene

Marriage to: Anna Marie Kilts- 5/13/1770

On one occasion, Johannes and son John (of Sharon) were near Fort Schoharie, when Johannes realized unfriendly Indians were nearby.

Johannes quickly hid little John amoung some Potato Vines in the field.

The Indians scalped Johannes, but did not hit him in the head first. Johannes was able to crawl to the Fort and notify someone to go back to the field, and locate his little John.
