Cumry (sic) Township in Berks Co in Pennsylvania March 25, 1788.

I Hans HOFFERT find myself weak and sick though yet by good understanding as long as God pleases (sic) God be thanks. I have Concluded to make my last Will and Testament on Manner following.

Firstly, my Will is and I order that all my just debts shall be paid out of my estate, further is my Will and I order that my two sons Ulrich and Henry HOFFERT shall not have the land, shall have therefore in Money, Hans HOFFERT and Isaac HOFFERT shall have all my land for a sum of two hundred pounds forever to them and their heirs, and this reservation that they can do and perform after my death that my beloved wife Elisabeth shall have her widow feet? as long as she lives and shall give to her yearly twelve bushels of wheat and six bushels of rye and three bushels of Indian corn and three bushels of buckwheat and fifty pounds of pork and fifty pounds of beef and must haul her a cow in fother as good as their cattle and must cut her firewood by the house as much as she wants and must haul her grain in the mills and also fetch it home further she shall fifteen pounds of flax cleaned and five pound wool and one pair of shoes and one pair sol'd and mended, further she shall have fifteen shillings of money yearly, she may keep four hens, a right to make dried apples and to take apples as many as she wants for herself. My son Jacob HOFFERT has his share in money in full and further has nothing more to inherit of my estate; further my daughter shall have one cow and one bed one pewter basin and two plates and two spoons, one iron pot, and a pan a shimmer and one large iron ladle, and spinning wheel a large tub and a bucket and a kittle for to wash and a little cupboard; further I order that the two sons shall have my whole estate moveable and immovable forever and their heirs, further shall the brothers to wit Hans HOFFERT and Isaac HOFFERT pay to Ulrich HOFFERT and Henry HOFFERT after their father's death twenty-five pounds till it is all paid whereof Ulrich shall have the firsts, then Henry HOFFERT shall have the other thereafter my daughter also her twenty-five pounds, and then it begins again by Ulrich HOFFERT till each one has its fifty pounds of these three children Ulrich and Henry HOFFERT and Susanna HOFFERT which money must be gold or silver as it is lawful in the Province of Pennsylvania. It is my last will and testament that my two sons, to wit, Hans HOFFERT and Isaac HOFFERT may not owe immediately after my death but that shall have one year time such is my last will and testament which was done by witnesses--
