On 6/9/1869 a second will was drawn up They then resided on the farm Pitrust in Potch.

Both his parent has passed on as well as the father of his wife. The mother of his wife was still alive. He died on his farm ''Pitsrust'' Potchefstroom aged 71 years 0 months and 7 days on '''27 May 1871'''
