Funeral services for John Mork will be held today at 2 p.m in the First Lutheran Church rural Ossian also known as the "Frame church" with Rev. I.H. Valle officiating. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery next to the church. John Mork was born on Jan 31, 1879, the son of Lars and Astri Mork. He was baptized & confirmed in the First Lutheran Church of which he has since been a member. He attended real school in Dover township and was a farmer his entire life until nine years ago when he retired and moved to West Union, IA. On April 3, 1901 he was united in marriage to Helena Nelson. To them were born seven children. On August 13 of this year he entered Methodist hospital at Rochester, MN for surgery. He returned to his home Sept 23rd and died at the Palmer Memoria Hospital Oct 1, at the age of 77 years, eight months & one day. He is survived by his wife Helena and five children. Preceding him in death were two daughters, Hazel and Mildred and two brothers, Martin and Henry and his parents.
