On the baptism record of Josias and Rachel's last child, Johannes Tobias Albertus BENADE, * 12 Dec 1859 bapt. 14 Mar 1860 at the NHK in Potchefstroom the word "overleden' appears next to Rachel’s name. Rachel therefore died in Potchefstroom c. 1859.

She was the widow of Pieter Johannes Jacobs (1898-ca. Before Oct 18 1859). She passed away in Dordrecht on 1 November 1885. The Liquidation and Distribution Account (L&D) KAB MOOC 39 (1876) of Josias notes his death date as Oct 1875 and this document was signed by his second wife as Magdalena Elizabeth Benadie on 14 Aug 1876 then filed on September 22 1876. 8 of his children with Rachel Aletta Catharina Sophia Benade are noted on the L&D document and also the son of Josias and Maria Magdalena de Beer, i.e. child 9: Johannes Hendrik Tobias Albertus Benade.

Johannes Tobias Benade (4.6.1827- 26.9.1900) x Elizabeth Huibrecht Christina Snyman (c. 1828-18.9.1891) are the parents of Anna Sophia and she has been entered on SAF CD v 3 Bek-Bop at this family with the birth date as 2.3.1853 and baptism date Victoria West 20.10.1853.
