About Johannis le Carter
Should his surname be LeCarter instead of Carter? It would make sense.
He is the first CARTER of whom there seems to be written state record. He is mentioned in a "placita coram rege roll" in the Trinity term of the King's court of County Kent, in the 25th year of the reign of Edward 1 (1297).
