His mother was Eleanor Crawford. All three came to this country from Ireland in 1770.
John and Eleanor are buried in Knox County, Tennessee. "

John Adair, his grandson states that he was enlisted in the British Army and Accompanied Cornwallis to the Americans. Cornwallis reached Fear Island on Dec 25, 1776, near Boston, with the Royal 7th Foot. A couple of years later He married Mary O'Donnell and was declared a deserter by the 7th Foot.
Next we have Mary Donnell Adair charged with Trespassing in Augusta County, Virginia in 1788.
Mary O'Donnell Adair's death was in Augusta County in about 1790.
John Adair then married Elizabeth McKNight in June 11, 1791 she was the daughter-in-law to William Burgess. John Adair move his family to Ohio in 1808.
