John Christie Aitken, Esq., of Thornton, Australia, third, but eldest surviving son of the preceding, was born at Ferrybank, Cupar Road, Cupar, Fife KY15 5DT 56.312248, -3.032658, 1821; settled in Australia; married Fanny Macnamara, daughter of Daniel Macnamara, M.D., R.N., by whom he had issue:

1. Francis Aitken, of whom presently.
2. Jane Christie Aitken, married K. MacLeod, and has issue: (1) Frances MacLeod. (2) John MacLeod. (3) Kenneth MacLeod. (4) Emma MacLeod. (5) Torquil MacLeod. (6) Oona MacLeod. (7) Alister MacLeod.
3. Fanny Aitken, married Captain Burn, 14th Hussars.
4. Alice Aitken.
5. John Christie Aitken, Captain 92nd Highlanders, married Adeline Norman, daughter of Charles Loyd Norman, J. P., D.L., of The Rookery, Kent.
6. George Aitken.
7. Oona M. Aitken.
8. Robert M. Aitken, died 1876.
