1930 US Census: Line 4 of 1930 US Census for Village of Golden Valley, MN is boarder living w/Jack & Susie Babcock--Eloise Butler, profession "Curator", industry "Plant Cultivar". Jack & Susie lived on edge of lrg & popular park in Mpls-Theodore Worth Pk, named for well-known superintendent of Mpls Park system. In middle of park is Theodore Worth Lake. Also in park is Eloise Butler Flower Garden containing many native & cultivated species of flowers & plants. Flower garden was dedicated by city to Eloise Butler-same Eloise Butler boarding w/Jack & Susie in 1930. Mom (Irene Babcock Meyer) used to talk abt going to visit Aunt Susie & Uncle Jack. She talked abt riding street car & abt lake in park. She was so excited when I (Judy Meyer Owen) went to Mpls Aquatennial Aqua Follies at Theodore Worth Pk in 1964. I rode bus to event-same route as old street car. At time I couldn't quite grasp her excitement, but now it becomes clearer. Deja Vou all over again. Amazing, because Mom had to be very young when she went to visit them bef she married in 1944 at age 16. I don't know if she went on her own or not.
