BIOGRAPHY:

The frontspiece of the Cheshire, Ct Town Records 1780-1790 lists 34 names under the heading, "Oaths of Fidelity 1777";

"John Badger" is among them.

John Badger, Sr transfered all his property (except that listed in his 1783 inventory) to his son, David, in 1772:

"I John Badger of Wallingford in the County of New Haven for the Confideration of Seventy two Pounds ten Shillings money received to my full Satisfaction of my Son David Badger of said Wallingford ... a Small piece of Land in said Wallingford ... it being where I now Live that is to say the one half of my Dwelling house and my barn Standing on said Land being the west End of the said houfe and also my ShoeMakers Shop with the Frame of a Shop and the West Part of my Land being the one half with all the Proper meets and bounds to the Same belonging with my Tanfatts Referving to my Self only what of said barn Shop and Tanfatts I Shall want for my own Particular ufe ... Warrant and Defend ... the fifth Day of March in the 12 year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third of Great Britain &c King anno Domini 1772 -- Signed Sealed and Delivered John Badger" ss [WallingfordCT LR(18:528)]
