According to a pedigree posted on our Family History, John Baxter here treated is the son of Thomas Baxter and his wife Agnes Montgomery. He is said there to have been born in Dunfermline in Fife in about 1618. Our Family History: John Baxter This cannot be correct, however, because his putative father died before 13 November 1613, the date upon which his testament testamentar was confirmed at Edinburgh.
