John A. Benson, 77, of 3 Oak Street, No. Aurora, passed away Tuesday morning, June 20, 1967, at the Geneva Community Hospital.

Mr. Benson was born February 20, 1890 in Smoland, Sweden, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bengt Benson. He came to the United States when he was 18 years of age and farmed in the Sycamore area.

He was married to Anna H. Oleson May 4, 1918, at Madelia, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. William (Delores) Miller of Sycamore, Eldon Benson of Elgin, Mrs. Helen Liehr of No. Aurora, Robert Benson of Sycamore, Mrs. Howard (Jeanette) Mound of No. Aurora, Mrs. Eugene (Jaqueline) Wilson of Florissant, Missouri, and Curtis Benson of DeKalb; also two brothers: Charles and Gunnar, both of Sycamore. Mr. Benson had twenty-one grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June, 22, at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pastor William E. Kmet, officiating. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery. Final arrangements were made by the Van Natta Funeral Home.
