About John Bent

John Bent bought in 1662 land on the west side of the old Connecticut Path, in what is now the town of Framingham (MA). The 1st petition for the incorporation of this township was headed by Corporal John Bent, who was chosen one of the tythingmen at the 2nd town meeting in 1701, and in Framingham he died in Sept. 1717, aged about 82.
He was twice married, first 7/1/1658 to Hannah, daughter of John Stone of Cambridge, and 2nd to Martha, daughter of Matthew Rice.
The 3 children are by the 1st wife:
- Hannah, born 5/6/1661; married 2/26/1681, John, son of John Adams of Cambridge.
- John, born 11/29/1689
- David, born about 1691
