About John Blanchard, Sr.
John Blanchard (also spelled Blanchier or Blancher) was born 27 March 1660, Weymouth, Massachusetts to Nathaniel and Susanna (Bates) Blanchard.[1][2] He married Abigail Phillips in about 1684, also in Weymouth.
John died 10 March 1733 in Weymouth, Massachusetts.[3][4]
Known Children of John and Abigail (Phillips) Blanchard:
- 1. Sarah, born Aug. 19, 1686.[5][6]
- 2. Mary, born Aug. 10, 1689.[7][8]
- 3. John 2nd, born Oct. 1, 1691.[9][10] Married Elizabeth Gross April 4, 1720, settled at Weymouth where he was deacon of the church.
- 4. Thomas, 1694.
- 5. Samuel, born Sept. 19, 1697.[11][12]
- 6. Nathaniel, born May 19, 1701.[13][14]
- 7. Jonathan, born June 2, 1704.[15][16]
- 8. Abigail, born Oct. 31, 1711.[17][18]
- 9. Nicholas died early in life.
Note: John BLANCHARD, born 1660 Mar 27 at Weymouth, Massachusetts, son of Nathaniel BLANCHARD and Susanna BATES. Died 1733 Mar 10 at Weymouth. On 1685 Jul 13, he sold a parcel of 3/4 acre to Joseph Dyer, adjoining the smaller parcel his mother sold at the same time. Freeman 1691 Apr 18 at Weymouth. He moved to the south part of Weymouth about 1715 and built a house between the old Town House and Whitman's Pond. Estate settlement 1733 Apr 25 in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The settlement agreement was made by heirs John, Thomas, Samuel, Nathaniel, and Jonathan Blanchard, Nicholas being then dead.
