John Blevins #2 (3rd. gen.) (William #2-2, William #1-1) b. ca 1716. John #2 is listed on a Goochland Co., Va land claim in 1739 and was listed as a Colonial Soldier in 1758. John #2 was a Longhunter of the Wallen-Blevins Longhunting expeditions of the 1760s. John #2 and his father are referred to by Col. John Sevier in his Journal of Nov. 20, 1798as “Having hunted on the Obias (or Obed) River, a tributary of WolfRiver, in what is now Fentress Co., Tn.” In August 1767 it was ordered; “James Talbott be the surveyor of a new road from John Blevins’ on Smith River to Hickey’s Road below Leatherwood Chapel.” John #2 bought cattle from Thomas Wynne in Pittsylvania Co., Va, the transaction entered into Deed Book #1 on pg. 267, on July 28, 1769. John #2 served as a witness to a 1777 indenture between his brother William #3 and Peter Copeland when William #3 bought land from Peter Copeland.John #2 is thought to have also purchased land. The transactions tookplace Mar. 27, 1777 in Henry Co., Va and was noted in Deed Book 1, onpage 31. John #2 is thought to have married Elizabeth Cox abt.1736. John remained close to his brother William Blevins #3 most of his life.John #2 d. ca 1805 in Sullivan Co., Tenn.

Catherine Blevins (1735, married Elisha Wallen, Jr.), Daniel Blevins (1738). Before 1740, he went on long hunting expeditions to Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky with his father and brothers. In 1767 John Blevins (son of Daniel Blevins), John Blevins, Sr., Dillon, and James Jr. appeared on the tax list in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. John died about 1805 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.
