About James Blevin, of NY, RI, MD, & VA

James Blevin was born before 1688, probably in Oyster Bay, Province of New York. His parents were James Blevin and Ann (___). When he was very young, his family migrated from Oyster Bay to the town of Westerly in the Colony of Rhode Island.

After his marriage to Margery Tosh, they lived in Westerly, Rhode Island Colony, until at least 1718.

This family migrated from Westerly, Rhode Island, to the Monocacy Hundred in what was then Prince George's County, Maryland, before 1733. Then, between 1734-1736, they migrated again to settle in Goochland County, Virginia. In 1743-45, James conveyed land in Goochland County pursuant to deeds on which Margery does not appear. It is therefore likely that she died before 1743, probably in Goochland County, Virginia.
