[East face] In memory of ISABELLA GUNN BRUCE, daughter of JOHN BRUCE, Cabinetmaker, Kirkwall, who died 17th April 1852 aged 11 years. JOHN BRUCE born 6th March 1806 died 16th April 1872. FOTHERINGHAM ARMIT BRUCE born 5th May 1808 died 5th Septr 1873. Requiescent in pace. [South face] In memory of a dearly loved sister JANE OLIPHANT BRUCE born June 5th 1838 died Dec 20th 1914. Asleep in Jesus. She hath done what she could. Note: John Bruce was married to Fotheringham Armit. He was a cabinet maker and also Governor of Kirkwall Prison [Orkney Family History Society: Monumental Inscriptions in St. Magnus Cathedral Cemetery, inscription number C/8/3]
