MEMORIAL PHOTOS 0 FLOWERS 1 John Arthur Caddell was born about 1800 in Moore County, North Carolina. His parents were Benjamin and Canie Eanus Caddell. John had six siblings: Mary Jane, Patience, Elizabeth, Nancy, James and Lurany.

John married Sarah Suttle on February 25, 1830, in Bibb County, Alabama, in the Baptist Church. In 1836, John and Sarah took their three children, their wagons and moved the family to the Sabine District, Texas. By 1850, the Caddell family lived in Cherokee, Texas. John and Sarah had nine children: John G., William, Maryann Elizabeth, Joseph Brooks, Nancy Evalyn, Isaac, Benjamin, Lurany "lulu", and Sarah Jane Caddell.

In the 1850 Census, John and Sarah were living in Cherokee, Texas with seven of their children. In 1852, John Caddell passed away. There is not headstone found but family history says that he was buried in the Eckert Cemetery with Sarah. The story goes on that the stone that marked John's grave has crumbled.
