Notes for John (Child 1) John Cannon was resident in 96th District, Newberry County, South Carolina, in 1790. The Federal Census of that year shows his family consisted of himself, wife, three sons and two daughters. The maiden name of his wife was Ellison. His sons James and Henry served in the Revolution.

(2)Henry Cannon (1758-1803), served as a private in the South Carolina lines. He married in 1784, Mary Ervin; b. 1760; d. 1796.
Note - if John was born in 1771, how did his sons serve in the Revolution?
Cannot find any proof that Jesse is a son.
