About John Carle
Note: John Carle served in Company D, 12th Ohio Infantry (3 Month Militia) 25 April - 18 August 1861. He then enlisted (21 Oct 1861) in Company D, 11th Ohio Cavalry which was formed in Highland county , Ohio. He was mustered out 1 April 1865 at Omaha, Nebraska. The 11th Ohio cavalry served on the Overland Trail in Wyoming from 1862 - 1865. His widow, Nancy, filed for a Widow's pension on 12 August 1890 in Iowa.
Died Intestate, Carson, Pott. Co. Iowa. 5 Mar 1887, Widow Nancy and two minor children Estella and Milton. Nancy purchased a home in Carson, Iowa. (Probably from Jacob Still). Note: Company D, 11th Ohio Cavalry, NO EMBLEM
