John Carney [son of Thomas Carney and Sarah Clifton] was born about 1717 in Overwharton Parish, Colony of Virginia[1]. (A merged profile said he was born in 1709, with "Family Bible" as the source.)

He and his wife Mary are mentioned in the birth and death records of their children Thomas, Daniel, Absolom, Jane, and Oxesby[2].

He died about 1775 in Virginia, his burial site unknown[1].
