John resided in Windsor until 1669 when he removed to Simsbury and settled in the area known as "Weatogue." He was appointed constable for Massaco by the General Court on 14 Oct 1669. He represented his town at the General COurt in 1670 and several times afterwards. John's will dated 21 Nov 1700 named his wife, Elizabeth, six sons and four daughters. Samuel Spencer of Hartford and John Case, his son, were executors.
