About John Chambers, Sr.
From http://www.chambersheritage.com/pafg110.htm#3585
About 1809, after the death of his parents and the sale of his property, John and his family joined a migration of families into Indiana, settling in Montgomery Township, two miles north of Paris Crossing in Clark County, in an area which would (in 1811) become Jefferson, and then (in 1817) Jennings County. His brother Alexander eventually settled in nearby Jefferson County, pastoring the White River Baptist church there. Both Alexander and John were Justices of the Peace for Jefferson Co. for a time.
