About John Churchill, Jr.

JOHN CHURCHILL (John,^ Edward,^ Robert,- William i).

 Born in Milford, Conn., Aug. 3, 1770. Settled in Litchfield, Conn.  He was a shoemaker by trade, and, about 1810, removed to the " Northfield Society," in the southeast part of the town, where he spent the rest of his life. 

Married, in Litchfield, Dec. 16, 1801, Ruhama Orton, of Litchfield.

Children horn in Litchfield.

I. Jeanette, b. Sept. 8, 1803; m. George Palmer, at Litchfield, May 19, 1822.

They lived in Le Roy, N.Y., where Mr. Palmer was a tailor.

Constantine, Mich.

2. Mary J. Palmer, b. Feb. 8, 1827; m. James L. Dixon, in

Constantine, Mich., May 20, 1849.

Children: (1) Emily W. Dixon, b. in Constantine, Mich., June 7, 1853; m. Heman H. Smith; (2) Minnie Jennet Dixon, b. at Lake City, Minn., Sept. 4, 1860; m. William F. Shaw, at Red Wing, July 3, 1898; (3) George Edward Dixon, b at Lake City, Minn., Nov. 17, 1865; d. at Lake City, March 20, 1885.

To John Churchill son of the deceased one piece of land lying at the west end of the farm near Benjamin Harts, bounded north on Thomas Stevens land East on land distributed to the widow of the deceased South & West partly on highway and partly on Benjamin Harts land, containing nine acres one road and partly two rods with a small barn standing there on - Also one other piece of land lying on the north east corner of said farm bounded North on Joseph Stevens last East on Ebeneezer Curtis's land south on land we this day set to William Churchill ________ on land we this day set to Sally Oviatt being thereby two rods long and four rods wide containing there Roads & Eight Rods
