From: "Thomas Clark Family..." Radasch p.7: "The stone stands in an area where other Clarks are buried, viz, a son and two grandsons of Nathaniel Clark, and the wife of Nathaniel Clark, Jr. . Probably John's son Nathaniel is also buried there, but his gravestone has disappeared. The proximity of these gravestones establishes John Clark as the father of Nathaniel Clark and the ancestor of the other early Clarks of Lyme."
From Radasch p. 11: "There is a deed in Stonington, Conn., that reads 'land laid out (1709) to John Clark of Harwich.' This shows that, after Plymouth, John Clark first joined his brother Andrew in Harwich, and later had land in Stonington (even though he may never have lived there) before joing his son Nathaniel in Lyme."

Married Mary Benjamin, Aug. 16, 1695. He lived afterwards at Barnstable, then at Yarmouth, where he taught a school, being a well-educated man.
"Mr. John Clarke was a schoolmaster in Yarmouth in 1701, and besides his salary he was furnished with a horse, the school being movable from one village to another." --Freeman's Hist. of Cape Cod, Vol. 11., p. 206.
The Plymouth Records say that John Clarke, in 1681, testified that he was then about 30 years old; but whether this was the son of Thomas Clarke, the pilgrim, is a question. he died at yarmouth, Aug. 16, 175, aged 60. [1]
