Biography
John b. 1637 and baptized 1640, according to First Congregational Church of New Haven records <ref name=JacobusClark>Families of New Haven: John Clark - Vol. II, pg 403, Fam. 1 John # 1 John</ref>
When John Clark's parents died in 1648, he was appointed a guardian.
The town records give us some information on the early days of John Clark Jr. after the death of his parents. Matthew Gilbert, John Wakeman,Samuell Whitehead, & John Moss, were by the Court, March 5th, 1649, appointed as overseers of the children & estate of John Clarke, deceased. At Court Jan 10, 1658, John's age was stated as 21, so born 1637. After expenses of raising the children for 10 years and some losses, John received 2/5 of the estate as the oldest son.
