• This George was brother to John Clark, of Saybrook, who removed thence to Milford and was made deacon of the first church, and married here the widow of Deacon John Fletcher. His brother Daniel was one of the patentees under the famous charter from Charles II. 'His only son, John, probably died without issue soon after his father.' His daughter, Ruth, married Thomas Fitch, of Norwalk, and her grandson was

• Governor Thomas Fitch, of Connecticut. Abigail, his daughter, married Abraham Pierson, first rector of Yale College. Sarah married first, Reynold Marvin, the celebrated Indian fighler, and after his death married Captain Joseph Sill, and from the latter union Lieutenant Governor George Griswold Sill descends.

"An Inventory of ye estate of John Clark of Milford deced intestat ye only son heire & Executor of Mr George Clark of sd Milford Deced was Exhibited in Court by Mr Samll Clark of ye same towne Deacon John Piatt of Norwalk & Robert Plum of Milford, Eliezer Rogers & Samll Camp of Milford being sworne to ye Apprizemt of sd Estate & sd Mr Samll Clark & Mr Robert Plum sworne to ye descent of it according to law." Administration granted to Samuel Clark, Deacon John Plat and Robert Plum. Mention of the six sisters of the dec'd and his father's will, "Mr George Clark." "... the sisters names are Hanna ye wife of Deacon John Platt Ruth ye wife of Mr Robert Plum Sarah ye wife of Capt Joseph Cill Rebecka ye wife of Mr John Browne Mary ye wife of Mr Samuel Clark And Abigaile ye wife of Mr Abraham Peirson."
