JOHN de COCHRAN, dominus ejusd. who succeeded his grandfather,* and was in∣feft and seized in his lands of Cochran, Corse∣ford, &c. anno 1498. He obtained a licence under the great seal, from king James IV. empowering him to dis∣pose of his lands of Easter-cochran,* in Renfrew∣shire, or the lands of Pitfour in Perth-shire, dated at Edinburgh, 31st October 1509. He accordingly sold part of his lands of Co∣chran, to James archbishop of Glasgow, anno 1519, by a deed,* to which his seal is appen∣ded, bearing three boars heads erazed, and circumscribed, sigillum Johannis de Cochran, &c. He died anno 1538,* leaving issue by Eliza∣beth, daughter of John Semple of Fulwood, his wife, a son and successor
