Born Feb. 28, 1762 Married June 25, 1782.” Joseph, born June 6, 1783 Phillip Coombs, born June 22, 1785 Jesse Coombs, born March 20, 1787 “Their fourth son, born Jan. 13, 1789 and died”. John Coombs, born Dec. 17, 1789 Edward Pindell Coombs, born Dec. 17, 1791 “Their seventh son was born Dec. 31, 1793; died Jan. 2, 1794. A copy of a typed abstract of these records, presumably by Fred Coombs, describes the Bible as “Printed by Matthew Carey, Philadelphia, Penn., in 1803.” This would account for why the handwritten entries are all in a very uniform hand, probably all written by the same person some time after the events, which may indicate an earlier source and/or make the record somewhat suspect. Also note that all children were probably born in Fayette Co, PA)
