About John Crozier, of Gortra House
John Crozier is registered in the books of the university as son of John Crozier armiger of Fermanagh. He (the son) married Catherine Rosborough, ... 22/12/1797 the property of Gortra House was passed on to him by John Rosbourough, by indenture.
Gortra House, is situated midway between Magheraveely and Newtownbutler. The Crozier family formerly lived at Cloncarn and Springtown, County Fermanagh. The house is easily found as it's opposite the Loop Rd turn off, on the road between Newtownbutler and Magheraveely.
In the graveyard on the edge of the village of Magheraveely is the Burial Vault of the Crozier family of Gortra House. It was built by John Crozier of Gortra House (born 1765 died 1814) and contains the remains of the Crozier family until 1933. Crozier babies were baptised at the church in Newtown Butler.
John of Gortra House went to Trinity College, Dublin, B.A. 1786. He was educated by Mr Noble and entered Trinity College Dublin on 3 July 1781, aged 16 years. Married 1790. Died January 1814, buried at Magheraveely Cemetry. Grandson of John Crozier of Ardvaney and Moorefields, Co, Fermanagh; by Mary Fiddes (née Spear) his wife of Tate Macaulay, co. Fermanagh.
(2 generations seem to be missing...b about 1710 and 1675. Probably both called John Crozier!!!)
(Another John b. 1750 died in 1823, and had 3 wives and a son, perhaps called Thomas, and 3 other siblings.
Had a relation called William, b. 1737, from the same town Mageradunbar or Mageradumbar, maybe his brother?)

Note about parents
As the note below indicates, while it is certainly true that John Crozier of Gortra House is a direct descendant of John Crozier of Ardvaney and Moorefields, (his grandson), how we get from there to here is still being worked out. John of Ardvaney and Moorefields seemingly had two male children, another John and a William, and we have grave markers for William and two of his sons, which establish places and dates. But, interestingly, the birth and death location of John of Gortra House seems more consistent with the traditions of William's brother John's descendants, so I added him to that side of the tree. This could change as more is learned.
This is the former parent: William Crozier, of Loughans . I've copied a good deal of information from that part of the tree into the current one.
(The point of all of this is to tie together disparate parts of the Crozier tree, including a branch in New England, a branch in Ohio, and a branch for which we have DNA testing for in County Fermanagh.)
