John DODDS was born 24/6/1790 Alnwick, England (son of William DODDS and Ann DARLING) and baptised 17/9/1790 in Alnwick, England.

John married 1) Elizabeth STROTHER on 7/1/1813 in Alnwick, England and they had the following children

• 1814 Anna Maria Theresa Elizabeth

His wife Elizabeth died 28/2/1814

John married 2) Sophie FEUILLETAINE in 1818 in Senegal, West Africa and they had the following children

• 1818 Antoine Henry Ermery
• 1820 Sophie Anne Emilie
• 1822 Marie

His wife Sophie died (his children were raised by her family)

John married 3) Mary Frances HINDMARSH on 5/5/1825 in Alnwick, England and they had the following children

• 1825 Jane Ann
• 1827 William Darling {emigrated to Australia in 1848}
• 1828 Thomas Langeley Pope
• 1831 Ann Eliza {emigrated to Australia in 1853}
• 1833 Henry {emigrated to Australia in 1853}
• 1835 Mary Frances {emigrated to Australia in 1854}
• 1837 John Hindmarsh {emigrated to Australia in 1853}

His wife Mary died 8/1/1838 (and he left his children with his sister Ann SKELLY}

John married 4) Mary HUGHES on 4/4/1850 in St Clements, England

John and Mary (with Mary;s mother Martha + 2 sisters (Agnes + C)) emigrated to Australia arriving in Sydney in 1850 on "Bernicia" following his son William Darling DODDS who had arrived in 1848

After arriving in Australia John and Mary had the following children

• 1855 Sydney
• 1857 Isabella - died young
• 1858 Jessie Darling
• 1860 Eleanor - died young {twin}
• 1860 Francis - died young {twin}
• 1861 Leonard
• 1863 Margaret

Some of John's children from his marriage to Mary Francis emigrated to Australia between 1853 and 1854

John died 19/9/1874 in Balmain Australia (his wife Mary died 7 years later on 29/3/1881)
