The link of the two marriages of John is based on: 1) timing of last child born to Christian Duncane in 1658 followed by marriage of a John to Margaret Craige in 1661; 2) location; 3) John Toddie and Thomas Duncan were witnesses to the christenings of children of both Christian Duncane and Margaret Craige. Thomas Duncan and John Toddie were also witnesses to the christenings of children of Alexander Peatie and Christian Davidson born in 1654 and 1657. In 1662 John lived in Paremill, in 1668-9 in St. Andrews, and in 1672 in Cartfoord Mill. In 1681 he lived in Parkingham. John became a laborer in Boarhills (Byrehills), 3 miles south of St. Andrews. At John's burial the family paid £3 for the mortcloth.

They had a daughter Margret Dog born in Boarhills and christened 19 Dec 1661 in St. Andrews, Fife (witnesses John Dog and William Brown).

William Dog was born about 1640 in Scotland. [He is probably the brother of John Dog (A001) based on age, location, and John Dog as witness at the christening of Hannah.] William married Elspeth Oliphant. William was listed from St. Andrews in the christening records. They had children John Dogge christened 9 Aug 1668 in Dunino, Fife, Christian Dog christened 1 Mar 1671 in St. Andrews & St. Leonards, Fife, and Hannah Dog born in St. Andrews and christened 9 Oct 1673 in Dunino, Fife.
