About John Donohue
Obituary: -An old and much respected resident, of Moama, Mr. John Donohue, died at his residence, the Riverina Hotel, Moama, yesterday afternoon. The late Mr. Donohue, who was a native of Limerick, Ireland, and was 65 years of age, had been ill for about eight months, and his demise was not unexpected. Many years ago, the deceased gentleman was employed in Echuca by the well-known Dr. Crossen. Subsequently he became the licensee of the Cumberland hotel, and afterwards of the Crown lintel. Moving to the Riverina Hotel, Moama more than a quarter of a century ago, Mr. Donohue became a leading citizen of that, border town and took an active part at, times in municipal matters and public affairs, winning the esteem of citizens his manly and generous treatment, of all. The deceased was twice married, and leaves a widow, four daughters, and one son. The funeral will funeral will leave deceased' late residence for the Echuca cemetery at 3 o'clock this afternoon.
