About John DuRant, of Horry County
Know all men by these presents that wee John DURANT King of the Yeopim Indians and Thos. DURANT my son and James BARBER Indian of the same Nation and county afds. held firmly unto Capt. John CARON of the said county and province asfd. in the full and trust sum of £1500 sterling money of Grate Britian to be paid unto the said John CARON his heirs Execs. Adms. or assigns or certain attorney to which payment will and truly to be made and done wee bind our selves our heirs Execs. Adms. firmly by these presents. /s/ John [his mark] DURANT, Thos. [his mark] DURANT, Thomas [his mark] BARBER. This above Bond form John DURANT Indian King was acknowledged in open court to Capt. John CARRON and at the prayer of the said CARON it was ordered to be registered. Test: Wm. SHERGOLD, Clk. court. Registered 14 day of Dec. 1740.
